makar/unmakar: twelve contempoary poets in scotland

Makar/Unmakar: Twelve Contemporary Poets in Scotland is an anthology published by Tapsalteerie, which I had the pleasure of editing in 2019. As I write in the blurb:
Makar/Unmakar: Twelve Contemporary Poets in Scotland showcases a dozen of the most vital poets living and writing in Scotland today. These are makars in the true sense: poet as maker, their poetry a vehicle for making (and unmaking) ideas of identity, community, reality and truth, realised within and against a world of austerity and precarity, reactionary right-wing populism, surveillance capitalism and ecological catastrophe. Gathered here, it presents a remarkable snapshot of some of the most urgent and adventurous poetry of our time, and an indispensable introduction to some of the best poets in Scotland working outside the mainstream.
We received some press coverage at the time in The National and The Scotsman and hosted a couple of great launch events at the Scottish Poetry Library in Edinburgh and Good Press in Glasgow. I’m really pleased with how the anthology turned out and remain grateful to all the poets for being so generous with their time and work. The poets in the anthology are: Juana Adcock; Tessa Berring; Callie Gardner; Harry Josephine Giles; Colin Herd; Daisy Lafarge; nicky melville; Iain Morrison; Nat Raha; Maria Sledmere; Alice Tarbuck; Kate Tough. You can buy the anthology from the Tapsalteerie website here.
